Recently, the reporter interviewed the Pucheng County Natural Gas Company and conducted an interview on how to prevent natural gas explosions. The leaders of Pucheng County Natural Gas Company started from four aspects.
The kitchen leads to the prevention of explosions in the living room. When cooking with gas such as natural gas, natural gas is ejected from the eye of the stove and burns with the spray. If the leak does not burn, reach a certain concentration in the air, then encounter an open flame, it will burn all in an instant, violently heat and expand, this is a terrible explosion. The concentration range that can cause an explosion is called the explosion limit. The lowest concentration just enough to cause an explosion is called the lower explosion limit, and the highest concentration just enough to cause an explosion is called the upper explosion limit. The degree of explosion hazard of a gas is expressed by the explosion limit. The higher the calorific value of the gas, the lower the lower explosion limit and the more likely it is to explode.
Then, under what circumstances will the gas reach the explosive concentration in the air?
One is to boil water, porridge, no soup when cooking soup, soup overflows, and the flame is extinguished. The gas is unburned, diffuses into the air, and forms an explosive gas in the kitchen.
Second, the gas stove is close to the window and the flame is blown out by the wind. The gas valve was not closed in time, and the gas leaked out.
Third, the hose of the water heater or the liquefied gas cylinder is detached, and the hose is broken and leaking.
Fourth, when the gas water heater is used improperly, or when the water heater fails, there is no gas valve closed, and the gas leaks a lot.
In order to avoid explosion accidents, do not fill the kettle too full; porridge, soup should not leave people; gas fire extinguishing should close the valve in time; water heater failure must immediately close the gas valve.
If you find that the gas leak has spread into the room, you should immediately open the door and window to ventilate the gas, and avoid all open flames. Pulling the light switch, making a call, opening the exhaust fan, pulling the brakes, and pulling the pins may cause an electric spark (the electric spark is not generated when the brake is not applied). These sparks are enough to ignite the explosive gas. When the refrigerator starts, stops, and the washing machine and other household appliances are also running, it also needs to be vigilant.
The proportion of natural gas is easier to diffuse than air; for example, liquefied petroleum gas is less likely to rise and escape than air. Be especially vigilant about the leakage of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas. For gas hoses, pay attention to check for signs of detachment, cracking, aging, cracks, etc. The valve should use a rotary valve (cock), do not use a gate valve or ball valve that is easy to leak. Check the leak: Brush the soap solution on the interface of the gas meter and the pipe parts. If the soapy water bubbles, it indicates a leak.
The residual liquid in the liquefied gas bottle must not be poured on the ground or in the sewer. The residual liquid is a liquefied gas that is not vaporized and may rapidly vaporize in the air. Fires and explosions caused by the residual liquid have occurred frequently.
