When we use CAD software for drawing, we often need to use the "verthost capture" function. In Haochen CAD, we will find a function of “deferred footâ€. So, what is the concept of deferred footing? How is it different from ordinary foot-catching?
When drawing a picture requires a foot, the most common method we use is to first determine a point and then capture the foot. The use of "Deferred Foot" is exactly the opposite. We need to make sure that it is perpendicular to that line, and then drag to confirm the second point.
In most cases, it is simpler and straightforward to use the normal foot-catching method directly, but if you only know the vertical relationship between the two lines and need to determine the vertical point, the effect of deferring the foot is highlighted. If we want to draw a line perpendicular to an object, we can first capture the vertical point on the object. This is the deferred vertical point. Then we can drag the cursor to determine the next point. The software will automatically calculate the object's vertical foot. The previous point.
So, when will there be a "deferred foot" prompt? Because usually we will open the endpoint, midpoint, intersection and other common capture options, when the cursor directly stays on the line, it will be captured first. At the endpoint, midpoint, or nearest point, the "Deferred Foot" prompt is not easy to appear. If you want to use the "Deferred Foot" feature, you can open the object capture toolbar, you can use the toolbar button when you want to use the foot or other less common capture options, the capture option on the command line is more Quick way.
Let's take a look at how deferred footing works:
1. First draw a line as the baseline, then click the line button or enter the shortcut L,
2. Click the foot button or enter per on the object capture toolbar at the start of the line.
3. Hold the cursor on the existing line in the graph, and the prompt for deferred foot will appear, as shown in the following figure: (we can see from the figure that not only the prompt changes, but also the capture mark and the ordinary foot. The mark is a bit different)
4. Click on any point on the line to determine the capture of the deferred foot. Move the cursor away from the captured line and move the cursor. You can see that a line perpendicular to the selected line moves with the cursor, as shown in the following figure.
5. Click OK to finish the line and finish drawing the line.
In addition to "deferred foot", there is also "deferred cut point", the method is basically similar, select the circle or arc first when the point is captured, then you can drag to determine the end point of the line, the line will be dragged when dragging Round or arc, as shown below.
In our drawing, you can use lines, arcs, circles, polylines, rays, reference lines, multi-line or 3D solid edges as the base object for drawing vertical lines, using "deferred foot" between these objects. Drawing a vertical line is a lot easier.
“Deferred foot†is a hidden function provided by Haochen CAD, and is also an important part of Haochen CAD “object capture†function. In an authoritative evaluation of Haochen CAD and other CAD, we can clearly see the functional gap between the two:
Through the function of “Deferred Footâ€, Haochen Software has better solved the problems encountered by designers in practical work, which also reflects the strong R&D strength of Haochen CAD and the research and development ideas for users. In the future use, users will have a deeper understanding of the powerful functions of Haochen CAD, which will also effectively improve the designer's work efficiency.
